A graphic designer having fun

grafikusi huncutsagok

In this new monthly column we would like to introduce those, who help us every day to be better and achieve more. This month Emese Rácz (you can see her on the left in the picture below), who works at the marketing department, and makes our website and social media pages colourful, has replied to some answers.

marekting_lanyok_zsiraffal1. What was your first thought when you saw that a company in the wateslides business looking for new colleagues?

How colourful this job can possibly be. It fits me perfectly.

2. Did you hesitate much before applying?

No, I didn’t do it at all.

3. What was your first impression about Eleven?

It turned out on the first day that I’m welcomed here, because there was a great need for a graphic designer on the marketing department. A lot of tasks were gathered, what I’ve been doing step-by-step since then. Not to mention the new ones.

4. How was your first day?

It went smoothly. After I learned how to get around my office and how things work here, then what was my first major task, I immediately managed to prove that they chose the right person.

5. When did you feel that you got the hang of life here at Eleven?

I think on the 3rd or 4th day I had already had my daily routine at the office: I checked my to-do list in the morning, arranged my day, discussed things with my supervisor, cooked a tea, checked my letters, administered everything, played darts before lunch, ate fruits while working in the afternoon, and at the end of the day I checked my e-mails and my tasks again.

splashWare_web_jatsszunk_latvany_griddel6. What was your first major success in your work?

When I redesigned one of our websites, splashware.hu, I received a lot of positive feedback while I was working on the project. Once, my supervisor praised my work to the head of the company while I was there. My other good memory about this project is when the developer of the website wrote a letter and he said that he was happy about how I could handle the project, and I gave him detailed instructions week-by-week, and the website has been getting better thanks to our cooperation.

7. What are you working on currently?

In these weeks I’m redesigning the website and updating the photos. I also have permanent tasks what I arrange every week in order to get them finished on time. One of my favourite tasks is creating images that express both water and a commemorative day or important occasion. I have full creative freedom when I work on these images, so I often have good laugh at the inside jokes (the most recent joke).

8. What has been the biggest challenge so far at your work and how did you solve it?

Well, I have to think about this one. I think the precise compilation of our reference book was quite a challenge for many of us, because we never felt it fully complete. This was the endless project that always missed something or we couldn’t find the right photos for a location. Obviously, we need to keep it updated, so we can never say that it’s fully completed, and we have the final version. Although, we are satisfied with version 9 and its 158 pages. :)

About the solution: those millions of sources that I used were getting clear, when I got help from my supervisor, or the sales team. So, with great co-operation, we managed to overcome this chaos.

9. What is the most important thing that you had learnt here?

Well, the names of the different types of water slides. 😀 Before I started to work here I only used them. Now I know almost all of them only by looking at them. Since I have been working here I know their fantasy names, I saw their structural diagrams, and I can offer electronics for them… not many people can say this about themselves. 😛

zsiraf10. Which is your favourite product?

There are many, but as I’m giraffe-centered nowadays (=D), obviously the little giraffe waterspout from the KING product line.

11. Which bath or aquapark did you visit last time?

I was in Aquaworld in February. Although I didn’t take a bath, I just made photos of the testing of the Galaxy.
